All Levels Vinyasa

with Anna Kidney

Temp: 80° || ALL LEVELS WELCOME

Like traditional Vinyasa classes, this class offers sequential movement interlinking postures to form a continuous flow creating a movement meditation that reveals all forms as being impermanent and encourages a sense of “letting go.” Attention is placed on the breath and the journey between the asanas rather than solely on achieving perfect body alignment in an asana. Vinyasa is truly an exploration of the body as it moves through space and time.

This class embraces practitioners of all levels with a healthy infusion of both challenges and rejuvenation. Beginners and long-time practitioners alike can benefit.

Modifications are offered.

Hatha

with Britt Petrovich, Kasey Stewart

Hatha is translated as ha meaning 'sun” and tha meaning ”moon”. This refers to the balance of masculine aspects - active, hot, sun and feminine aspects - receptive, cool, moon.. This class is based on classical yoga postures with mindfulness and attention brought to alignment while delving in to the deeper layers of yoga. Asanas (postures) are done in combination with the practice of pranayama (breath) and are designed to open the many channels of the body, particularly the main channel, the spine, so that energy can flow freely. Meditative and healing by nature. Hatha Yoga is is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites – the balance of strength and surrender. It is a powerful tool for self-transformation and with focus to the breath, pranayama, helps to still the wanderings of the mind while encouraging us to be more present in the unfolding of each moment.

Vinyasa

with Monique Jacobs, Anna Kidney

Temp: 80-85° || ALL LEVELS WELCOME

There are four basic definitions of vinyasa: 1) the linking of body movement with breath; 2) a specific sequence of breath-synchronized movements used to transition between sustained postures; 3) setting an intention for one's personal yoga practice and taking the necessary steps toward reaching that goal; (4) a particular style of yoga class.

This class offers sequential movement interlinking postures to form a continuous flow creating a movement meditation that reveals all forms as being impermanent and encourages a sense of “letting go.” Attention is placed on the breath and the journey between the asanas rather than solely on achieving perfect body alignment in an asana. Vinyasa is truly an exploration of the body as it moves through space and time.

Yin/Yang Flow

with Nila Tiwari Holcombe

Temp: 70-75° || ALL LEVELS WELCOME

Yin/Yang Flow is the practice of balancing deeply held passive stretches with an energizing, strength building dynamic flow. The start of class incorporates the cool energies of yin, with seated poses to stretch connective tissues and calm the mind. Feeling the natural progression of the practice the second part of the class transitions to the warm energies of a yang based standing sequence. The practitioner will gain core strength, agility, flexibility and control using breath to create a mindful flow. This practice culminates in deeply held supine poses allowing the body to melt into the stretch and the mind to relax towards a meditative state.
